WHAT WE DO - Instrumentation development and consulting in NIR, FTIR, UV/VIS, Fluorescence spectroscopy

Innovative Science Tools, Inc., located in the Boston area, specializes in the development of new instrumentation and technology for chemical analysis and also for anti-counterfeiting applications (including counterfeit drug detection), both based on optical spectroscopic methods.     Types of spectroscopy covered include near-infrared (NIR), mid-infrared (FTIR), UV-visible (UV-VIS), and fluorescence/luminescence spectroscopy.  The company also provides consulting services in instrumentation and analytical method development in these areas.

R. Micheels has a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology,  and over 30 years of industrial research & development experience in applied optical spectroscopy, chemical sensing instrumentation, and photovoltaics.  He has extensive experience in FTIR, near-infrared, UV/VIS, fluorescence spectroscopy, and near-infrared hyperspectral imaging as well as applications of these spectroscopic techniques to chemical process monitoring, pharmaceutical product and ingredient quality control, counterfeit drug detection, medical diagnostics, bioprocess monitoring, homeland security,  polymer identification, and environmental monitoring.      See Consulting Capabilities page for R. Micheels biographical sketch with literature references.
